Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage joined The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner for a romantic, moving performance on Wednesday.
The actor performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday with a song called "Your Name," from the upcoming film Cyrano.
Directed by Joe Wright, the adaptation is based on Edmond Rostand's 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac, which has been since made into several films including the 1990 version starring Gérard Depardieu, the 1987 comedy Roxanne starring Steve Martin, and even Netflix's teen rom-com The Half Of It.
The upcoming Cyrano is specifically based on the Broadway stage musical written by Dinklage’s wife Erica Schmidt, which ran in 2019 — the Dessners did the music for this too, while The National frontman Matt Berninger wrote the lyrics with his wife Carin Besser.
It's not Dinklage's first time fronting a band — he had a punk band in his 20s and you better believe there are pictures — nor is it the first time we've heard him sing. Remember the time he teamed up with Coldplay for the Game of Thrones musical?
