Samsung releasing a new Galaxy phone and a new folding phone within the same month are proof that it has no chill. In turn, we, the humble smartphone-obsessed consumer, lose our chill by convincing ourselves that we need a new phone.
There's no doubt that these new releases are solidifying Samsung's spot as a tough iPhone contender. The Galaxy S20 has a near-perfect display and the Galaxy Z Flip is the actually-reliable folding phone that we've all been waiting for. Most folks simply just aren't about to drop $1,300 for a new phone.
The renewed, unlocked route is a really smart one to take if you lost your phone and need a replacement ASAP, if you're sketched out by net neutrality (or, more clearly, the lack thereof), or if the thought of e-waste is adding to your climate change anxiety.
