Love Actually's "To me, you are perfect" scene is arguably one of the creepiest, most manipulative scenes in rom-com history. But it just got out-creeped, by none other than Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
That's right: a man who refuses to tell us how many children he has thought it'd be a great idea to pose as a man whose unrequited love for a married woman is his only personality trait. It's a strange choice for Johnson, given that this movie moment is actually deeply unsettling. As Lindy West wrote in Jezebel, "that best man guy shows up at Keira Knightley’s house and spawns a decade of nice-guy emotional manipulation reframed as 'romance.'"
